What we do

At Pupil Labs we are pushing the boundaries of eye tracking, one of the most powerful approaches to understanding the human mind. Our technology makes it possible to see how a person looks at their world and enables insights into people’s cognitive state, neurological health, distribution of attention, and much more!

Our eye tracking products incorporate state-of-the-art artificial intelligence, computer vision, and sensor technology to provide cutting-edge tools to researchers in academia and industry. Our tools are used worldwide by psychologists, medical doctors, designers, elite athletes, and even astronauts!

To learn more about eye tracking, check out our article: What is Eye Tracking?.

We are a diverse team of designers, scientists, engineers, and builders. This enables us to build the entire product in-house. We design the eye tracking glasses and embedded electronics ourselves. We assemble, test, and ship hardware from our office in Berlin. We conduct fundamental research that rapidly feeds into novel algorithms we can get into the hands of our users. We have pioneered the first eye tracker that can truly be used in the real world and have launched the first cloud-based analysis platform for eye tracking data.

Join us to build the future of eye tracking!

Who we are looking for

Pupil Labs is a very product-focused company. We are investing a lot in research and development work and a lot of our success is based on having some of the most innovative tools on the market.

Our most recent product Neon is one of those innovative products and it enables a ton of new applications that have never before been possible. Some of the applications we are most excited about include

  • Professional sports, where we see interest from some of the largest professional teams in the world to understand the visual behavior of their athletes better.

  • Developmental psychology research, where using eye tracking with young children becomes feasible for the first time to understand how we learn to perceive the world.Assistive technology, where Neon has the potential to help individuals around the world to interact and communicate with their environment again using their eyes.

  • Clinical medicine, where eye tracking is finally robust enough to be used for diagnosis and therapy on a large scale.

And there are so many more! Now we need your help to let the world know about all the possibilities! Join us as a Content Creator in our newly established satellite office in Düsseldorf, Germany to tell stories that demonstrate the application spaces of our products and the amazing things our users do with them.

We are building a new Communication & Content team at Pupil Labs from the ground up. We are looking for people who will enjoy shaping this team, it’s vision and workflows. You’ll have to be creative, wear more than one hat, and will have plenty of opportunities to show initiative!

We are looking for someone who recognizes the magic in our products and applications and can portray it to others. We do not want to see stock footage with elevator music or any corporate marketing stories that make us cringe! We want to tell genuine stories that show things as they truly are.

One of the challenges you will be facing is that our audience is extraordinarily diverse. Ranging from academic researchers in psychology to clinical neurology doctors, architects, UI designers, assistive technology providers, professional athletes, pilot trainers and so many more! You will have to create content that speaks to each of these audiences!

Another challenge will be the fact that some of the audiences have not heard of eye tracking before and we have some education to do. You need to be able to explain complex topics to people with little prior expertise in a fun and engaging way!

What you’ll be doing

  • You will storyboard, pitch, and produce a wide range of video content that targets a diverse set of audiences. This content will showcase application scenarios, product features, and extraordinary user projects. Examples include the following:

    • Demos and example studies illustrating products, features, or use cases.

    • Content pieces around experimental releases generated by our R&D team or product specialists.

    • Documentaries and highlights on projects realized by our users.

    • Collaborations with external domain experts or researchers on projects that move the boundaries of eye tracking.

  • You will work together with members of the R&D team and Product Specialists teams to obtain raw footage from the frontier of research and keep everything to a high scientific standard.

  • You will publish content on YouTube and our social media channels and will engage with our communities there.

  • Some projects will be in collaboration with external domain experts. You will contribute to managing those projects starting from the first contact to the final release.

  • You will coordinate projects with our in-house visual design team and external contractors (e.g. videographers or editors where appropriate).

  • You will contribute to our high-level content strategy and project ideation.

Your Qualifications

  • You have a portfolio of engaging high-quality video content.

  • You are experienced in publishing content on various social media channels.

  • You have a lot of excitement for science and technology.

  • You can take on projects from ideation to production to publishing.

  • Good written and spoken English.

What we offer

  • Partial home office options

  • Continued learning and professional development (we will sponsor you to attend conferences or courses and other educational activities)

  • Flexible working hours6 weeks of holidays per year

  • A healthy work-life balance
